Be a Councillor Taster event

In 2019, we will be fighting all-important election campaigns to elect a Labour Councillors across the Tees Valley. Local Government is the front-line in terms of fighting austerity, protecting our communities and delivering for local people. It is therefore absolutely vital that we have a full slate of passionate, capable and driven people to stand as Labour candidates. 

If you think you might be interested in standing for election to our local council, come along to our 'Be a Councillor' event to find out what it is all about. 

Labour colleagues in Middlesbrough, Stockton and Redcar and Cleveland are holding the event jointly and we will have a range of sitting Labour Councillors to talk about their experiences and cover cover topics like:
  • What the role of a councillor is
  • How to juggle being a councillor with other commitments
  • applying for our panel of candidates, being selected and being elected.
The event is free, and lunch and tea and coffee will be provided. Spaces are limited so please let us know if you intend to come.
